This is renovation work on a barbecue restaurant, which has narrow space. The main and the most important task was how to manage the limited size of the interior.
Opaque partitions give customers a cramped feeling, but it is uncomfortable with no partitions. To solve this conflicting problem, we placed half mirror partitions with traditional style paintings printed on them, thereby adjusting the customers' view from the seats.
The half mirror reflects objects in front of it, while simultaneously allowing the objects behind to show. The images through the half mirror from behind are unclear but customers feels comfortable since the room looks spacious with the visional atmosphere that coupled half mirrors creates.
